When we are able to have face-to-face services they follow this format. Online services (see the homepage) are similar.
11.00am–12.00pm on the first and third Sunday of each month
Our Sunday meetings begin with a hymn followed by an opportunity for silent prayer, and a recitation of the Lord’s Prayer. The lesson sermon is made up of readings from The Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, given alternately by two readers elected from the church membership. These passages are chosen to expand on a weekly Bible lesson topic, and are the same as those studied each week by Christian Scientists around the world.
Wednesday Testimony Meeting
8.00pm–9.00pm, on the second Wednesday of each month.
This meeting includes hymns and themed readings from the Bible and Science and Health. After a short period of prayer, the remaining time is open for the congregation to share their experiences of healing and spiritual growth.
Our Sunday School room is open to young people up to age of twenty. Their lessons are based on the Ten Commandments, Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and the teachings of Christian Science, with the aim of helping children learn how to heal for themselves. We are happy to include children in the service when appropriate and all Sunday School pupils are welcome to join in the opening and closing of the service.
